Missions

As a United Methodist Church, we aim to reach out and serve our community near and far.
Here are just a handful of the things we do!

Prayer Quilts
In 2003 a long-time member, Dayla Rhodus, followed a God nudge. Despite not being one to sew she saw the need for prayer quilts, not just for our congregation but for those who we are connected to. With that, as of 2013 Faith has provided
807 total prayer quilts ~ 33 Confirmation Stohls ~ 1 - 50th Anniversary Quilt for Faith U.M.C.
and has reached
83 towns ~ 34 states ~ 13 countries

Monthly Mission Cart
Each month, Nurture Team selects a handful of items to gather in our Monthly Mission Grocery Cart. At the end of each month, items are distributed to local non-profit organizations such as Crossroads Mission, Press-On Youth Ministry, S.A.F.E. Center, First U.M.C. Food Bank, and more.

Community Garden
Seasonal April - October
Started back with a God-nudge from Pastor Michelle Reed in 2011, we turned part of our open lot into garden plots for the Kearney Community! Our neighborhood elementary school has utilized it as a hands-on experience, the children and youth of Faith have raised pumpkins for a fundraiser, and many a community connection has been made.
Contact the office if you are interested in joining our community garden!

Mona's Store
The Giving of Christmas for All
A new outreach ministry started in 2012 remained nameless until a dear volunteer, who was sold-out on this ministry, lost her battle with cancer. We now carry-on in memory of Mona Ripp and her years of dedication to the children of Bryant Elementary.
This store offers K.C.L.C. students from Bryant Elementary the opportunity to 'Christmas shop' for gifts for their parents or guardians. In 2013 we will be expanding it to include the Crossroad Missions children. The Family of Faith provide $5.00 or under gifts to support the outreach and even our local Y.M.C.A. assists in staffing the gift selecting and wrapping stations.
